Japan Bank of International Cooperation Project


The Forest Department has submitted a project proposal namely ‘Tripura Forest Improvement and Poverty Alleviation Project’ for consideration of Japan Bank for international Co-operation. The project is proposed to be implemented in three Districts of the State viz. West Tripura,

     
   
     

South Tripura and North Tripura over a period of 8 years. The primary objective of the project is to alleviate poverty of the forest- dependent people in general and shifting cultivators in particular by improving the stocking, composition and productivity of the forests for increased flow of goods and services in a sustainable manner and by taking up suitable alternative income generating activities for them.
The SAPROF (Special Assistance for Project Formation) team for Japan Bank for international Co-operation conducted a detailed study in the State and has submitted the Draft Final Report in the last week of August, 2006.

Indo-German Development Co-operation project

The Detailed Feasibility Study (DFS) team arrived in the State in the first week of September, 2006 to undertake the feasibility study in respect of the project proposal of the State under consideration of the Indo-German Bilateral Co-operation (IGDC). The team members held detailed discussions on various aspects of the project which is proposed to be implemented in the whole of Dhalai District and part(s) of other Districts.
